"Just a Religion"

"This is not 'Just a Religion'"

Too many people think that we live the way we do, because of our religion.
Even we sometimes fool ourselves into thinking that's why we do these things.
"Why don't you drink?" "Because of my church."
This is a bad place for our testimonies to rest.

As I have served my mission for the last year,
I have seen miracles. I have seen the reality of the power of the priesthood.
Not just in church administration, but in the healing of a wife, in the wee hours of the morning,
With not a soul to witness this miraculous healing.

I have witnessed souls released from the bondage of sin and sorrow,
That had held them and their family captive for years.
I have seen changes in people that would not make sense to you or I, but they happened.

How can you find this testimony of the truth?
Not just in a religious sense,
But also, sense in your every day life?

If I could only convey to you the great change this gospel has had on my soul.
It didn't happen when I was baptized, but when I finally accepted it into my heart,
The Holy Ghost, (The gift we recieve after baptism,)
Came into my heart, and continues to help me change.

I love this time of year, when the world seems to get even just a little more Christlike.
I am grateful for our Savior, and everything he has done for me.

If you do not have a testimony of Christ for your life yet, don't worry.
Jesus Christ says in John 7:17 "If any man will do my will, he will know of the doctrine."
Do the things that are commanded in the scriptures, attend church read your scriptures,
Apply it to your life, and you will gain that testimony.

That is what happened to me.

I know God loves you. He is watching you at this very minute, trying to encourage you to be your best. Let us not let down our Heavenly Father!

It is amazing how Christlike people become this time of year. I love it! Reminds me of what we can be like all the time.

You are so right. This is so much more then a religeon. It is truth, it is light, it is a way of that that our Father in Heaven has given us so that we can be happy, always.

I add my testimony to yours that as we do the will of the father, and keep the commandments, a noticable light will enter into our lives, and we will be happier. We will know of a surety that we are doing what our Heavenly Father wants, not just what a religeon asks.
