Giving up things we like, for those we love.

Think of things that you do that entertain you, that you fill your free time with. Whether it be reading extremely well written blog posts...or ones like these. Listening to well written ballads, or free-style rapping with a couple of other white guys... Or reading well written political biographies, or Calvin and Hobbes" comic books. Whatever it is, just think about it...
Now, what would it take for you to give those things up?  I want you to think about what would it take to give up those things. Would it be hard? Or would it be pretty easy to stop reading this, blog...Settle down, get your pulse under control. You don't have to stop reading this post. I just want you to get a better understanding about sacrifice & love.

"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
"Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.
"But he was wounded for our transfressions he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:3-5

Just think of how hard it was for you to give up just something little. Jesus Christ gave it all. He gave up his life for you and me to be healed. He loves us so much. We were worth everthing to him. And all he asks in return, is that we live in the way that he has provided, which is the way that will keep us happy. Even in his requests, He is entirely selfless.
Whether you have great faith, Whether your faith is weak, Whether you have lost your faith, or Whether you haven't found your faith yet. The invitation is the same.

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Come unto Christ, enjoy the peace that comes from it. Grow your faith, and help others do the same.
