V-day!

Have you seen all the red lately?
It always seems like holidays control the color scheme of our world.
In an odd parallel our lives seem also to be controlled by the events and plans in the world surrounding us.

So in this world where we seem to be carried along in the current...
Where do we find security?
Where do we find an anchor?
Where can we turn for peace?

We visited a wonderful lady last week, she fed us tacos and Diet Pepsi.
We shared a thought from the Book of Mormon with her, and she began to share with us, the peace that she has felt the last few weeks...
We met her about 3 months ago, and invited her to come back to church. She loved the church, but had gotten offended. She knew that she needed to come back and put it behind her. Since then she has done that, quit smoking, and is coming to church every week. A remarkable step of faith.

Why did I share with you this story?
Because of something that she shared with us. She said, "Though nothing has gotten better in my life, I feel so much better!"

Jesus Christ was on a ship in the stormy sea, sleeping, and his disciples woke him saying "'Master, Master, Carest thou not that we perish?' and he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, 'Peace, be still.' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm." Mark 4:38-39

If your life seems like this vicious sea, you can have peace. Just like this wonderful Sister.  Don't let your spirit be dragged by your surroundings, like the color scheme dragged along with every holiday. Sail into the safe harbor, Jesus Christ.

that was a great post! I love when people are able to put the past behind them and come back into the fold of A God that loves each and every one of his lost sheep!
